The Palace of the Duke of Sesto is currently the headquarters of the General Council of the Spanish Bar Association (CGAE), located at number 13 Paseo de Recoletos in Madrid, between the church of San Pascual and the López-Dóriga Palace, the work of the same architect.
The building is the work of architect Luis María Cabello Lapiedra and was built in 1919. Cabello Lapiedra played a prominent role in the revival of a national architecture based on historicism, but also on vernacular influences treated in a romantic way.
The city council wants to create a new cultural hub in Madrid Río and this year it has located the Veranos de la Villa open-air space next to the entrance to the Casa de Campo on our Puente del Rey, replacing the Sabatini Gardens.
The work was not installed where we see it today. At that time, the Quevedo roundabout was home to the monument to the 2nd of May by Aniceto Marinas. Thus, Quevedo ended up in the nearby Alonso Martínez roundabout.

The house was known as "the narrow house" due to its small size, with a façade measuring 4 metres and 36 centimetres wide, which only allowed for a single window on the upper floors.
