This 8-day self-guided bike trip from Prague to Dresden (Germany) is designed with the whole family in mind. With daily stages of no more than 30km full of fun activities for every age, it’s a perfect trip if you are looking for an active and original way to spend the holidays.

ITINERARY
Prague has a great deal to offer for kids of all ages. Climb the Petřín hill in the heart of town and enjoy the views over the city, take a boat tour of the river, visit the zoo or enjoy a picnic in one of the many parks: the options are countless.

Leaving the city on two wheels following the Vltava river over a gentle and flat terrain you will make your way to Mělník. The town is constructed on a hill looking out over the confluence of Central Europe’s most important rivers, the Elbe and Vltava. Try the local wines on the terrace of its chateau while your kids enjoy an ice-cream watching the sunset over the vineyards.

The road is leading you further on to Roudnice where you can swap your bikes for boots and hike up the Říp mountain. According to the legend, this hill of volcanic origin is where the first Czechs settled many centuries ago. You can arrive to the next town, Litomerice, by bike or train and enjoy its great swimming pool.

Now following the Elbe River, you are entering the region of Bohemian Switzerland, one of the four National Parks. It’s quite far from the country that carries the same name, but has a similar landscape. Hike to the famous  Pravčická Brána, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe, or take a boat ride through the Kamenice gorge, an absolute must.

Once you are in Germany just enjoy the cycling or park your bikes every now and then to explore the best the surroundings have to offer. Curious sandstone formations, picturesque villages or medieval castles, everything is within reach to explore.

Once in Dresden we recommend you to stay a few more nights and enjoy its great cultural offer.
