DESCRIPTION

El Natural Route of the Greenway of the Santander-Mediterranean Railway It is a conditioned itinerary that runs along the old route of the Santander-Mediterranean Railway. A project that sought to link the ports of Santander and Valencia, an ambitious proposal of more than 700 kilometers that was never completed.
Now, the route is being recovered as part of the Network of Natural Trails of the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.

Our route will begin in Soria, city of Poets and Culture and from there our northwest direction will take us to Tierra de Pinares, the La Historia de Abejar cycling museum, San Leonardo de Yagüe, Hontoria del Pinar, Tierras de Lara, Burgos, the beautiful Merindades, the Tunel de la Engaña (which we will avoid), Vega del Pas and arrival at the Cantabrian Sea in Santander.

We will cross half of Spain in a week of varied cycling travel, physically affordable and with great natural and cultural attractions. A journey through the history of Castile.
