In Muslim times this territory was known as the kura of Fahs al-Ballut. The translation of the name of the region is the plain of acorns. Already at the time this area was the largest holm oak pasture in all of Europe, and today it continues to be one of the best examples of the Mediterranean forest that we can visit.
