With daily stages of 25-52km, mostly along one of the best developed cycle paths in the country, is a trip designed for the occasional cyclist. Enjoy at your leisure, without having to worry about any logistics: as you arrive by bike, your suitcases will be transported to the next hotel.
ITINERARY
Arrival in Prague is on your own and we recommend taking a guided bicycle tour of the city to discover its hidden corners. Also enjoy its best-known monuments: the City square with its astronomical clock and Charles Bridge on the Vltava River are certainly worth a visit.
You will start pedaling for a well-known winegrowing region, where we recommend making a stop at the Chateau Veltrusy. passing through landscapes of great agricultural importance you will reach Roudnice, one of the oldest cities in the country and an excellent place for a picnic.
If you want you can take a moment to visit the remains of a dark past in the city of Terezín, a former World War II concentration camp. The place forms a strong contrast with the calm and cheerful rural landscape.
Continuing along the ancient trade route that winds along the banks of the Elbe River, you will find yourself surrounded by medieval castles that crown the Central Bohemian Mountains.
There will also be a possibility to leave the bikes aside and take an afternoon to explore the paths of bohemian Switzerland. A National Park far from the country that bears the same name, but with a similar landscape. Visit the famous Pravčická Brána, the largest natural sandstone arch in Europe.
On two wheels you will once again enter Germany, crossing the Elbe River by boat and crossing landscapes that show an excellent combination of nature and culture. The fortresses and castles built by the Saxon kings have earned an inscription on the list of UNESCO World Heritage.
Final destination of the trip is Dresden, cultural city par excellence. Although the city was bombed almost to the ground in World War II, Its reconstruction has been truly impressive. Stay a few more days to visit its monuments and churches. The Opera, the Baroque Palace kennels and theCathedral Hofkirche, Just a few examples of their great offering.
