ITINERARY
You will reach Prague on your own, and if you can, we recommend booking a few extra nights to be able to explore the city calmly. Monuments such as the City square with its astronomical clock and the Charles Bridge on the Vltava River, which are undoubtedly worth a visit.
Starting on the banks of the Vltava River and crossing a soft mountain area you will reach the famous castle Konopiste, summer residence of Archduke Franz Ferdinand whose assassination sparked the First World War. From there you will continue by train to The Tabor.
On two wheels you will enter the South Bohemian region, with its soft and green landscapes. Don't miss the city of Telc, with its beautiful Plaza Mayor, classified as World Heritage by UNESCO.
Another essential place to visit on this route is the fairytale city Mikulov with its majestic castle whose origins date back to medieval times, when caravans traveling along the Amber Route sought the refuge of its walls.
Continuing through what was once 'The Iron Curtain' you will cross the border into Austria. Once in the city of Mistelbach, there will be a vehicle transfer to Vienna, the imperial city of the Danube. An excellent place to also stay an extra night, to be able to visit it calmly before getting on the bike again.
Have you ever visited two capitals on the same day, arriving by bicycle? Now is your chance. From Vienna following the Danube, you will cycle to Bratislava. The last stretch is truly spectacular in nature. There is the option to choose a variation to the more demanding route if you wish.
The final destination of this trip is Budapest, imperial city of great beauty, which was created in the 18th century by unifying the cities of Buda and Pest. Discover the flat side of Pest, on the east bank of the Danube, and breathe in the literary atmosphere of the 19th century. Or take a walk through the Buda mountain area and climb the hill gellert to have beautiful views.
Remember that Budapest was declared a 'Spa City'. Don't go home without having taken a relaxing and well-deserved bath in one of its thermal baths!
