All the Caminos de Santiago are a transformative experience, but there is one that stands out for its authenticity and mysticism: the Camino Primitivo. For many, this is not just a bicycle trip, it is their first great challenge on two wheels.

The Primitive Way lives up to its name, as it follows the path of the first documented Jacobean itineraryIt was the route chosen by the Asturian king Alfonso II the Chaste in the 9th century to visit the recently discovered tomb of the Apostle Santiago. Our tour follows in his footsteps - adapting the route to make it cyclable - starting from Oviedo and crossing some of the most spectacular landscapes in western Asturias.

Throughout the journey, you will pedal through The Regueras, Grado, Salas, Tineo, Pola de Allande and Grandas de Salime (after overcoming the Port of the stick), until crossing into Galician lands through the emblematic Port of the Holly.

From there, the adventure continues along the historic A Fonsagrada region, where a gentle descent will take us to the majestic city of Lugo, with its impressive Roman wall, a World Heritage Site.

The route then links up with the French Way en Rei's shovels, where the emotion grows when feeling that Santiago and the iconic Plaza del Obradoiro are now within reach of your pedals.
