GREENWAYS OF THE ALTO MINHO. THE ECOPISTS OF THE LIMIA AND VALDEVEZ VALLEYS BY BIKE

This Easter we'll be cycling through the Alto Minho region in northwest Portugal. Undoubtedly one of the most authentic corners of our neighboring country. In an area with rugged terrain, the old railway lines, now converted into eco-paths, offer an easy way to explore the Limia and Valdevez valleys. Furthermore, the Portuguese Green Coast and the EuroVelo 1 route allow us to enjoy an easy and very attractive trip.

Our base of operations: Viana do Castelo

Our accommodation is the Hotel Rali *** in Viana do Castelo, a beautiful historic city nestled on the Lima River.

• Viana do Castelo: a historic ensemble marked by its maritime past, Manueline palaces, Baroque churches and the Sanctuary of Santa Luzia dominating the city from above.
• Ponte de Lima: historic village with its emblematic medieval bridge over the Lima River
• Arcos de Valdevez: a group of rural villages considered among the most beautiful in Portugal, with perfectly preserved traditional architecture.
• Roman bridge of Vilela: Beautiful granite bridge of Roman origin and medieval construction.

A simple bike trip that combines nature, culture, thermal baths and gastronomy through northern Portugal.
