THE BLACK FOREST
Baden-Württemberg – Germany

FROM 17 TO AUGUST 23

FROM 23 TO AUGUST 29

Ride Level: Medium/Low

The Black Forest is a mountain range located in the southwest of Germany, more specifically in the southwest of the state of Baden-Württemberg. Its slopes begin at a minimum height of 200 m. above sea level and reach up to 1.495 m. of the Feldberg, its highest mountain. It is known as the land of three countries, since although it is located in Germany, it borders Switzerland to the south and France to the west.

The waters flow on one side towards the south and west directly into the Rhine, from the north and northeast into the Neckar basin, which in turn is a tributary of the Rhine, and towards the east towards the Danube valley. The main rivers that run through these mountains are the Enz (tributary of the Neckar), the Kinzig (tributary of the Rhine) and the Nagold (tributary of the Enz).
Virtually the entire Black Forest is environmentally protected, there are two important natural spaces, the Middle and Northern Black Forest Natural Park and the Southern Black Forest Natural Park, and each of them has innumerable areas of special protection. , to guarantee the protection of the most endangered habitats and species.
Being a mid-mountain massif, heavily populated with vegetation, the Black Forest has a very healthy climate, with countless spa sites, declared “Lufthurort” “Places to do healing breathing therapies.”
Fir, beech, spruce, birch, hornbeam, maple and other species mix in the dense and humid forests that give their name to THE BLACK FOREST, which is one of the main lungs of Europe. Deep valleys of mighty rivers, open green meadows where the traditional architecture of the area continues to have a reason for being in this landscape of intense greens.
