Iria, together with all the women who make up the community, created an online space of help, support and confidence where they can learn, be inspired and gain momentum to go out into the world to travel by bike 'alone'. Now, they hit the roads.
This trip fits into these times we live in, times of pandemic and restrictions: the bicycle as a means of transportation and the self-sufficient travel format, prioritizing contact with nature, outdoors, complying with the security measures established in each territory.
Only 4 seats make it an exclusive trip, to get the most out of Iria, who will coordinate the preparation of the trip, accompany you from a distance in the previous process and answer all your questions before and during the trip.
The campus is designed in the form of practical learning actions, where you can learn and obtain all the necessary tools to prepare and enjoy a bicycle trip.
All topics of interest in relation to the trip will be discussed: ways to orient yourself (applications that we can use, how to get out of a city...), driving on roads with traffic, choosing a place to spend the night, tricks and tips to calm those nerves. for the first time, choice of camping equipment, components, tools and basic mechanics of the bicycle, recipes for cooking on the stove, guidelines for cycling behavior... And a long etcetera that you will be able to see as the days go by.
It is not an organized trip with a guide and all inclusive, this is a real adventure.
Iria has been wandering the world for 15 years and has been traveling by bicycle for more than 5 years. She has organized workshops, group trips, initiated new cycle travelers and the first meet-up of the Soy Cicloviajera community, attended by 49 women. She will be the one to accompany you on this foray into self-sufficiency bicycle trips, teaching you everything she knows; but the protagonist will be you!
The trip is in a group, at an easy pace, stopping at places of interest along the way. Spontaneity will be another member of the group.
Aimed at women who already know how to ride a bike, but do not do long rides. We will pedal along tracks in good condition and local roads, with little technical difficulty and not much unevenness. Our highest altitude does not reach 200 m on the first day. The stages have an average of 40 km and we will ride about 3-4 hours a day.
