Say Cadiz that is to say beaches, sea and mountains. But also culture, tradition and gastronomy unbeatable. It is traveling through a quiet and uncrowded scene, with excellent viewpoints, historic cities and natural parks with special charm.

This 7-day trip at your leisure by bicycle is a journey with little physical difficulty which is part of one of the great Eurovelo routes that cross Europe, Eurovelo 8. With daily stages of 20-55km and little slope, it is designed for the occasional cyclist.

ITINERARY
You will start in the city of Cádiz touring it by bike. A place of great historical importance, both national and international, this beautiful city is marked by its strategic location between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. You will visit, among other things, the Puertas de Tierra Wall, the Cathedral, the Market Square, and the Tavira Tower.

The next day you will go out following the Eurovelo 8 route through the Bay of Cadiz, towards the island of San Fernando. Crossing the salt flats* of Chiclana you will reach the town of Sancti petri, a place traditional fishermen dedicated to fishing for bluefin tuna using the art of the almadraba. Needless to say, it is the place par excellence to eat. You will spend the night in a good hotel in the town of Chiclana.

From there the next stage is until Conil de la Frontera, agricultural and fishing town with great cuisine. Despite being a tourist destination, it has managed to maintain the charm of a fishing village, especially if you visit the town outside of the summer months. Don't forget to visit the Chanca Museum, located in a historic building, with exhibitions of fishing and ancient almadraba techniques in particular.

And we have not yet mentioned the beaches... Along the entire Cadiz coast they extend beaches with fine white sand and transparent waters. In the next stage, which takes you to the famous Trafalgar Lighthouse, you will be pedaling next to the coast. Take a swim or stroll along idyllic beaches wherever you can.

In addition, you will go inland to the town of Weighs de la Frontera. This picturesque town of Arab architecture was declared a Historic-Artistic Site and is part of the 'The Most Beautiful Towns in Spain' Association. In addition to being extraordinarily prettyit's a true gastronomic referencein the route. Don't leave there without having tried the tagarninas, artichokes and snails collected in its municipal area. Or organic retinto meat accompanied by delicious vegetables, or legumes from the gardens around the town... All fresh and from KM0.

From Vejer you will go down to the famous Beach of Bologna, with its dune more than 30 meters high that was declared a Natural Monument. From there the Eurovelo 8 itinerary takes you through the interior and the Alcornocales Natural Park, known for hosting the largest cork oak forest in Spain in a magnificent state of conservation, and still maintaining the human use of cork.

Before entering the city of Algeciras we recommend making a stop at the Sale El Frenazo, a mythical place on the route with good quality traditional food. Then you will enter the city of Algeciras along the bike path. The trip ends at the city's port.
