We want to present you a fantastic initiative organized by the European Greenways Association on first European “Greenways photo contest” under the project "Greenways Outdoor” (open-air greenways), co-financed by the Cosme program of the European Union and of which we are part as partners in our capacity as organizers of cycling trips along the European Greenways.
The central objective is to promote greenways as infrastructures especially suitable for the practice of outdoor activities for all types of users, whatever their preparation and at any time of the year. The greenways and all the elements that surround them are the protagonists of this contest.
Photos will be valued that show elements of the infrastructure itself (viaducts, tunnels, old railway buildings, towpaths, etc.) in short, the rich railway heritage that dots all of Europe, the architectural, cultural and natural riches of the environment, places and unique elements, and in a very special way the practice of outdoor activities by different types of users (cyclists, hikers, athletes, families, etc.).

Hay five awards for the best photos and a special prize for the image that achieves the greatest impact on social networks:

First prize: 2 train tickets in 1st class for a round trip, on any of the cross-border routes offered by “Renfe-SNCF in cooperation”, sponsored by “Renfe-SNCF in cooperation”
Second prize: a 3-day stay in Madrid for 2 people exploring the Greenways of Central Spain – organized and sponsored by Rutas Pangea
Third award: a 3-day stay in Olvera (Andalusia) for 2 people – sponsored by the “Vía Verde de la Sierra Foundation” (FVVS)
Fourth Prize: 3 registrations and 3 numbers to participate in any of the marathons on green routes – organized and sponsored by Diversport.
Fifth Prize: Day trip by bike with lunch on the “Vía Verde del Aceite” (in the Subbética region) for 4 people – organized and sponsored by Subbética Bike Friends (SBF)
Special Award “Social Networks”: consists of two nights of accommodation for 2 people, in the vicinity of one of the greenways that won the 7th European Greenways Award (in Germany, Spain, the Czech Republic, Belgium or the United Kingdom) offered by AEVV and by the “Greenways Outdoor” project.
