Cycle tourism in Andalusia
Andalusia offers incredible landscapes, a huge variety: mountains, sea, forests, deserts. Our bike trip It is fundamentally supported by the Almanzora Greenway. The route recovers the Guadix-Almendricos (Granada-Murcia) railway line. The line was built to deliver mineral, mainly iron and marble. Its exploitation began between 1906 and 1907 by several companies with English capital.
The Almanzora Railway linked the cities of Murcia and Granada. It was inaugurated in 1885. The main goods it transported were esparto grass, iron ore and marble from the nearby Macael quarries.
