A bicycle trip across the Vinalopó basin

We suggest cycling through pine trees, orchards, vineyards, and small clusters of houses where it won't be difficult to find a place to grab a snack. We'll pass through villages dominated by castles and end in the medieval town of Bocairent, with a beautiful old town where you can sample local delicacies. This land acted as a hinge between the ancient kingdoms of Murcia, Castile, Aragon, and Valencia. The roads and landscapes are dominated by Christian castles that used stones from Moorish constructions. Particularly impressive are the fortresses of Villena, Sax, Elda, Petrer, Biar, Novelda, and Aspe.

To get to know them, we'll walk their paths, lose ourselves in the medieval alleys of the towns, and visit their castles. We'll delve into the beautiful Valencian orchards filled with orange and fruit trees and pedal along the Xúquer River. We'll enter the heart of the Albufera Natural Park, a site of great natural and scenic value. Finally, our trip will end in Valencia with its historic center, the Lonja (Lonja), its cathedral, the central market, and a network of narrow streets that hide a wide variety of restaurants where you can savor the local cuisine.
