Description and itinerary
| The route between Pisa and Siena is an ideal appetizer for Tuscany |
If you have less than a week, the route between Pisa and Siena is ideal for getting to know a bit of the charming region of Tuscany. As you cycle through vineyards and olive groves, you'll have the opportunity to explore medieval towns such as Casciana Terme, San Gimignano and Monteriggioni. Don't forget to plan some gastronomic stops at the countless typical restaurants you'll find along the way!
We leave Pisa, famous throughout the world for its magical Piazza dei Miracoli with its characteristic leaning tower and the bell tower of the cathedral. It has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1987. And after cycling through the enchanting Tuscan landscapes we arrive at Siena, a magnificent medieval city, easily distinguished by its ancient brick buildings and the crown of the Torre del Mangia.
This cycling week is especially designed for regular cyclists who are in good physical shape. The daily stages are not too long, about 45 km, but they take in mountainous landscapes with numerous climbs and descents, including some steep slopes. This route is recommended only for well-trained cyclists.
