Hiking in the heart of Asturias
SAN ISIDRO BRIDGE – DEL MAY 14 TO 16
The valleys of the Teverga, Quiros and Trubia rivers extend from the Cantabrian Mountains to the limits of the councils of Oviedo, sheltered between the impressive Aramo and Cordal de la Mesa mountain ranges. In this territory of extraordinary beauty there are several protected landscapes and natural monuments such as Pico Caldoveiro, the Desfiladero de las Xanas o The Ports of Marabio and a natural jewel Ports of Agüeira from Lindes within the Ubiñas Natural Park.
Their strategic nature has also made the valleys a particularly attractive territory for man. Prehistoric times have left us remains such as the Tuñón and Fresnedo shelters, megalithic complexes such as the Cobertoria or the pre-Roman road of the Camín de la Mesa.
Currently, traditional mining uses are being converted into tourist and natural uses, so that the emblems of the area today are the bears, to which the Casa del Oso, in Proaza, has been dedicated.
