We propose a trip that begins in Pamplona. City that is the Camino de Santiago, a hub of communication for centuries, a city of passage and welcome, a walled, green and living city. Above all, alive, cultural life, local commerce, bars, bookstores, bike shops...
On this route we suggest you ride along the Eurovelo 1 route, a great itinerary that connects the North Cape with the Iberian Peninsula, crosses all of Spain, the Portuguese Algarve and ends in Porto, although it will soon arrive again in Spain, to Finisterre where will join Eurovelo 3, the Pilgrims' Route.
Pedaling on Eurovelo 1 we will travel through the Plazaola and Bidasoa Green Routes to reach the Cantabrian Sea, we will ride a few kilometers on the other side of the border, along the Bidasoa to visit Hondarribia. An itinerary that has been consolidated thanks to the Ederbidea project. By the way; culture, gastronomy, railway heritage, beech forests, riverside forests, legendary settings, books and films such as the Baztán valley, its manor of Bertiz and Elizondo, beaches and sea, with Hendaye, Hondarribia and the sea as cherries on the cake.
An easy route, with 3 climbs spread throughout the entire trip, climbs that will allow us to enjoy beautiful landscapes and consume the calories provided by good local food. An itinerary for all those who like to enjoy cycling on a quiet trip, with short stages and with a lot to see each day in the towns where we will stay to sleep.
There will be no shortage of stops at the Oiz cheese factory, the Arkupe pastry-chocolate shop and some bars that the locals don't want you to visit. Don't forget to bring your swimsuit!!
An authentic cycling holiday to enjoy some of the most beautiful corners of the Iberian Peninsula.
