Through the Douro by bicycle. From Valladolid to Toro.
We are going to travel a section of EUROVELO 1 through Castilla y León. From Valladolid to Tordesillas and from there to Toro along the Duero Natural Path. Lands of history and wine, pedaling enjoying the juniper forests and vineyards of the Ribera del Duero.
We will start in Valladolid, one of the monumental jewels of our country, which is worth knowing. Our route takes us first through a large area of Tierra de Pinares, we will arrive at Simancas where our itinerary intersects with another great itinerary, the Camino de Santiago from Madrid. From Simancas el Duero takes us to Tordesillas, where we will spend the night.
The next day we will leave Tordesillas behind to head towards Toro, crossing a very sparsely populated part of Castilla, with many more vineyards than inhabitants, passing very close to the Natural Reserve of the Castronuño-Vega del Duero banks, an area in which the Duero presents its best riverside forests.
