Costa Tropical by bike: from the mountains to the sea

Four days to swap the December cold for the Mediterranean

La Tropical Coast by bike It has something that makes it especially attractive: here the mountains reach practically to the Mediterranean.

We are on the coast of Granada, in Andalusia, in a territory where in just a few kilometers we can go from cycling along the sea to finding ourselves among ravines, small white villages and mountains from which to contemplate the coast again.

And that's precisely what we're going to do during this December long weekend.

We will be based in Motril and have four days ahead to discover some of the most interesting landscapes in this part of Granada.

They will not be long-distance routes.

But be careful, because there's hardly a flat stretch here.

The mountain is too close to the sea to make it so easy for us, and we'll have to earn some of the views we find along the way.

In return we will have variety.

Roads and small highways.

White villages.

Subtropical crops.

Ravines and mountains.

And the Mediterranean appearing again and again in the background.

Each day we will set out to explore a different landscape and each evening we will return to our base in Motril.

Because we will be sleeping in the same hotel for all three nights.

We leave our suitcases there and every morning we only have to worry about having breakfast and getting ready to go cycling.

Well, not too much of that last part either.

We take care of the routes, transfers and logistics.

You come to cycle, to discover a territory that you probably knew more for its beaches than for its roads, and to share four days with a group of people who probably want exactly the same thing as you.

As always, the routes, logistics and assistance will be organized by the Rutas Pangea team, specialists in bicycle trips since 1993.

Accommodations

Elba Motril Beach

Next to Poniente Beach in Motril

During the three nights of the trip we will be comfortably accommodated in the Elba Motril Beach & Business Hotel****, a great 4-star hotel just a few meters from the beach.

Having a fixed base for the three nights will allow us to travel more comfortably, leave our luggage in the room, and set off each day to discover a different area of ​​the Costa Tropical. After cycling, we'll return to the same hotel to rest, have dinner, and spend the afternoon with the group.
