Also in Rionegro del Puente, at the foot of the sanctuary of the Virgen de la Carballeda, the Cofradía de los Falifos (Brotherhood of the Falifos) was founded. This brotherhood, still active today, owns the town's current pilgrim hostel and is dedicated to "the repair of bad roads for the comfort of the poor pilgrims who travel to Compostela to visit the temple of the Apostle James."
