Description and itinerary
“Crossing the Alps in easy mode”.
This fantastic holiday starts in the Bavarian capital, passes the Resia mountain pass and ends in the cultural city of Merano. Every cyclist can enjoy crossing the Alps. Along the way, you will enjoy wonderful views of Lake Starnberg, the historic Lüftlmalerei paintings on the facades of houses in Garmisch-Partenkirchen and Mittenwald that will fascinate you, and you will marvel at the views of the Zugspitze, the Karwendel and the Ortler mountains.
One of the best cycling routes in South Tyrol that will put a smile on your face with every pedal stroke, as if by magic.
In Merano, if not before, you will realise how varied and comfortable the crossing of the Alps can be.
Get on your bike and embark on an adventure through the Alps!
Remarks:
In Munich, you can experience Bavarian culture, gastronomy and mentality in all their glory. After delightful stops at Lake Starnberg and the Leutasch Valley, you will finally reach South Tyrol: castles, palaces and Lake Resia accompany the cycling route to Merano.
Difficulty:
The route is on fantastic cycle paths and small side roads, and only very short stretches of main roads. Almost every day there are short climbs. We cross the Resia Pass by bus and then descend about 1200 metres to Merano. The route is mostly paved, although some long stretches are on good dirt roads.
