Self-guided Alpe Adria – from Salzburg to the Adriatic Sea by bike

In eight days you will cover around 400 kilometers, principally for well paved cycle paths y quiet back roads. With daily stages of 55 to 75km You will have more than enough time to relax and enjoy. In addition, the itinerary includes two train rides so you can give your body and your bike a rest.

ITINERARY
This route is an excellent combination between nature, culture and sport. You will start pedaling from the city of Mozart towards the south through the wetlands towards Hallein. You cross the romantic Gastein Valley and the Hohen Tauern massif (Great mountain passes), which will offer you a variety of places of great natural and historical interest. Don't forget to visit the Bad Gastein Waterfall, impressive phenomenon and source of inspiration for so many poets and artists.

The route continues through the banks of the river Möll and meanders through the most spectacular alpine landscapes. Arriving in the city of Villach will not leave you indifferent its bar atmosphere and its outstanding restaurants. From there you will continue through the Italian region of Friuli, with its pure nature and extensive forests.

Finally, you will reach Grade, an picturesque Italian fishing village. Enjoy a glass of wine and a well-deserved pizza on a terrace in one of its historic streets!
