ISTRIA BY BICYCLE. THE PARENZANA GREENWAY. CROATIA FROM JUNE 17 TO 25

Croatia It is a fantastic destination, and ideal to explore by bike. This summer let's go cycling holidays to Istria.

Our bike travel uses Parenzana Greenway as a driving axis. The Parenzana, also called TPC -Trieste-Parenzo (Poreč)-Canfanaro (Kanfanar)- was a 123.1 km railway route, a project of the Austro-Hungarian Empire that was launched in 1902 and that transported, in addition to passengers, salt Piran and Sečovlje, olive oil from Buje and Motovun, fruits, vegetables, stone karst, lime, wood, flour and wine. Only 33 years later the railway stopped operating. A century after its inauguration, it was recovered as a Greenway, the train route ran through the territories of what are now three countries: Italy with 13 km, Slovenia with 32 km and Croatia with 78 km.

Our route will take us from the Gulf of Trieste to the Cape Kamenjak in the vicinity of Medulín, which overlooks the lesser-known Adriatic, with some of its best "beaches" with turquoise blue waters. Istria falls in love with the sea, cities and towns full of history such as the Roman Poreč, Motovun or Piran. Istria is also the kingdom of Malvasía, a landscape of sea and olive trees, slopes on which Malvasía, Teran, and Moscatel strains grow that accompany an original gastronomy, very Mediterranean and with oriental aromas.

Our stages with a daily average of 50 kilometers are designed for enjoyment and relaxation on the back of our bikes.
