UNIBIKE 2015, the second edition of UNIBIKE, has been reaffirmed as the great call of the bicycle industry in Spain and has already become an indispensable event for professionals. Attendance has increased by 55% compared to 2014. Of the 33,860 visitors, 6,367 were industry professionals, which consolidates the international fair of the bicycle as the best showcase not only for brands presenting their innovations and designs, but to a sector that extends beyond the bikes themselves and hosts clothing, accessories and specialized services.
Unibike 2015, organized by Ifema and Ambe, was held from 18 to 20 September in Madrid, it was attended by 231 exhibitors, an increase of 6% over the previous edition, and over 500 brands of bicycles, with an occupancy of 28,000 square meters.
Very important was the creation of the area of cycle tourism, a demand of the sector and one of the attractions of the fair, where visitors were able to meet the proposed bicycle routes in Extremadura, Madrid, Basque Country, Galicia, Catalonia, Andalusia and elsewhere. Also very relevant was the participation of many companies that showed their tourism product supply and cycling tourism products.
Congratulations to Region of Madrid and Turespaña for achieving that, as a complement to the cycle tourism space, a workshop, a board of trade, were held where exhibitors could meet nine tour operators from 4 European countries (Germany, United Kingdom, Italy and Holland) who came especially to Unibike and learned, previously, in a Fam Trip about the potential of Madrid as a destination for cycling tourism. A success of this new initiative that allows us to hope to be consolidated as a permanent area at UNIBIKE, as already happening in other major bicycle fairs in Europe. We, Pangea Routes and Greenways, collaborate in spreading the area of tourism by bicycle and organizing a Professional Conference on Tourism by bicycle with a varied program of presentations.
Unibike 2015 welcomed professionals and public from all regions of Spain, with large numbers from Madrid, host city of the event, also from Andalusia, Valencia, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla y Leon and Catalonia.
International participants also grew by 51%, especially those from Portugal -58% more than the previous year-, Italy, France and Andorra, as well as those coming from Latin America as Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico and Venezuela, and others places like the United States, Finland, Hong Kong, Russia and Sweden.
Next edition of UNIBIKE is already programmed, it will be held from 16 to 18 September 2016.
