Routes through towns, mountains and valleys full of crop, crafts and history, museums, hermitages, fortifications, squares, architecture, gastronomy y literature.

WORKSHOP:  THE LANDSCAPE IN THE WRITING

Duration: two sessions in the afternoon of two hours each.

CONTENT

When we contemplate nature, we call landscape what our mind perceives from aesthetics. For this reason, the landscape is not a physical reality, but rather a subjective appreciation, since each person retains different elements in their gaze. How is landscape translated into literature and travel narrative?

The Pyrenees have attracted a good number of writers who love nature and the outdoors and these authors have left abundant descriptions of these wonderful landscapes. By walking through the same landscapes we will also experience many of the sensations that they expressed in their writing.

OBJECTIVES

In this workshop we will work on our feelings, thoughts and emotions when walking through nature in these beautiful landscapes and how we can reflect on it through some collective readings that we will do as a group. We will also propose some exercises and tricks to practice descriptions in a story and how they are inserted into its structure. Previously we will make a brief theoretical presentation about the presence and discovery of landscape in literature and some of its most interesting writers.
