BIDASOA SMUGGLER ROUTE (NAVARRA – FRANCE) HIKING

We return with new hiking trails in Bertiz, this very special border area within the Pyrenees. And as in recent years, we have chosen the transversal theme of smuggling, for being for a long time one of the fundamental occupations for many of the inhabitants of these mountains bordering France. The black market and its mischief determined what was produced, how it was traded and ultimately how the people lived in this region.

Also in the spotlight for being the setting for the Baztan Trilogy, set in the suggestive settings that we are going to explore.

We offer a route through these Pyrenean forests through wooded paths that we always dream of in the photos of specialized magazines while we know the adventures of the smugglers and like them, we will also reach the beach, the dream destination, near Hendaye and Hondarribia.
