HIKING IN THE SAHARA DESERT. 

TUNISIA FROM DECEMBER 26 TO JANUARY 4

To End of Year we propose a hiking trip through southern Tunisia. 

This Christmas we propose a new trip, a tour of the south of Tunisia. A country full of contrasts and attractions. An itinerary of nature tourism, a journey of ecotourism and responsible tourism.

Our tour heads towards the interior of Tunisia, towards the south. Far from the tourist centers of the coast.

The Bouhedma National Park, one of the few representations of the acacia blanket ecosystem in North Africa, the Jbil National Park, in the heart of the Tunisian desert and the Ksar Ghilane oasis with its thermal water spring are some of the enclaves that we will visit on our hiking routes. But above all, our trip seeks to be an immersion on foot in landscapes little frequented by tourists that, from their arid, desert appearance, offer us many elements of interest and, in a very special way, their people. Those inhabitants who live far from the city, from the frenetic pace that cities set and who show us another way of life that already seems unreal to us because of how far it is from our daily lives.

It is a fairly comfortable route physically, without major unevenness. The duration of the walks is 5-6 hours a day, affordable for anyone with a walking habit. The luggage is transported by dromedaries, each traveler only has to carry a small backpack with the things he may need for the day.

 We must remember that despite heading to the desert, we are in winter and that although the weather in the area is usually mild, we must be prepared a little for everything, it can be hot during the day, and the combination of wind and sun You can tan quickly, but it is also easy for us to have a cooler day and even have rain (it is not usually common on this date), so a raincoat and some warm clothing should not be missing from our luggage.

Between October and May the desert offers us its best moments, the average temperatures are between 12 and 28^o C.

We also have to bring a swimsuit and flip flops to be able to enjoy a bath in the Ksar Ghilane hot springs.
