Vale do Guadiana by bikeAs is tradition in Easter we propose a Hiking route in Portugal. Our destiny: Mértola, in the heart of the Guadiana Valley Natural Park.

The stretch of the Alentejo Guadiana that the lampreys travel up to reach the river port of Mértola (Mirtillis for the Romans), is the same one that the Phoenicians and Romans navigated to load their ships with wine and oil from the fields of Beja, and the minerals (silver, gold and copper) that they extracted from the Sâo Domingos mines.

The endless Alentejo pasture, guarding the Guadiana River and marked by some of the most beautiful towns on the Peninsula, is our destination for a fantastic hiking trip.
