In the month of February 1937, one of the most emotional battles of the Civil War in Spain was fought: The Battle of Jarama. The Southeast of the capital was an objective of control by both contending sides and it had to be there, between the Manzanares, Jarama and Tajuña rivers where they collided.

Our bicycle tour tries to relive the events of those days, visit the emblematic enclaves, collect the most charismatic people and visit the remains that are still standing, both from the battle and the later fortifications, which served to maintain the line of front until the end of the war.

From the Arganda Station, we will go up to the heights of Pingarrón, to take the Cañada Galiana (the sunken road for the British battalions). From the moors we can contemplate the dividing line of the Jarama and Tajuña valleys and the Suicide Hill, with its many remains. We will descend towards the Jara Alta Ravine on the way to Sarasola Castle to head towards Morata. There we will visit the museum dedicated to this battle and take a breath of fresh air before taking the Greenway of the Tajuña train to finish back in Arganda. A pleasant and simple tour with which to relive in a fun way, days that were not so much, but that are part of our history.
