HIKING IN THE MEDITERRANEAN FROM DECEMBER 6 TO 8

On December Bridge we propose a coastal hiking trip Mediterranean. Our destination: Cartagena, in Murcia.

BAY AND CLIFFS OF CARTAGENA

  • Reference points: Algameca Chica, Galera, Fajardo Battery, Cartagena Bay
    In the evening, we propose a guided tour of the city of Cartagena by a local guide.

  • Route interest: Cartagena is a city steeped in history, founded by the Carthaginians in 227 BC on an Iberian settlement, since then it has been a place of passage and an obligatory port in the Spanish east. But in addition to the city itself, its surroundings offer us an impressive coastline and small mountain ranges riddled with mines, with citrus and carob trees and very interesting patches of vegetation.

CAPE DE PALOS AND SIERRA MINERA

  • Type of surface: Mainly trails.
  • Difficulty: Medium-high
  • Time: 7 hours
  • Accumulated ascent difference: 758 m
  • Reference points: Cala Flores, Calblanque Natural Park, Cenizas Cliffs, Roman Road, Llanos del Beal.
  • Interest of the route: The Calblanque Natural Park is the jewel of the Murcia Coast, a small protected space that preserves cliffs, forests and some small beaches that become a delight for our hiking trails. It is recommended to wear a swimsuit!!

LA MUELA AND ROLDAN NATURAL PARK

  • Type of surface: Trail, some stretch of dirt track.
  • Difficulty: medium
  • Time: 4 hours

  • Accumulated ascent difference: 623 m. 

  • Reference points: Peñas Blancas, Califa, El Portús, Roldan.

  • Interest of the route: The Muela y Roldán Natural Park occupies the coastal mountains west of Cartagena and has great ecological and landscape value.
