We met Manon Brulard a couple of months ago in Brussels. We met her, taking advantage of our time in the city, back from the Bike held in Ghent. The Fiets held in Ghent and Utrecht are probably the most important cycle tourism fairs in Europe.
We really wanted to talk to her. Manon is very young, but she has launched many interesting projects related to bicycle travel and responsible tourism such as Welcome to my Garden y Slowby. We have left you the interview we recorded with her for Viajando Despacio, a little further down, so you can get to know her better.

We talked to her about her bike trip from Brussels to Tokyo. As a result of that bicycle trip, a documentary was born whose title could be translated into Spanish as “Women don't ride bicycles.”
In the documentary Manon shows us what it means to be a female cyclist in different countries around the world.

On June 10 we screened his documentary in Madrid. Come hear the stories of the cyclists Manon met along the way.

We frame this projection in the activities that we are organizing in 2023 to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Rutas Pangea.

Women don't ride bicycles

In this documentary we will see that, from Brussels to Tokyo, these women prove the opposite.

A film about what it means to be a female cyclist in different countries around the world. When Manon left to cycle from Brussels to Tokyo, she was carrying her camera…

A story from Brussels to Tokyo

Manon tells us: our Road to the Rising Sun began in Brussels in February 2019 and ended in Tokyo in December 2019. During this 11-month journey, we crossed 21 countries and cycled about 13.500 km. More importantly, we had the opportunity to meet, talk and learn from many people!

Meeting extraordinary women cyclists

Some interviews were planned in advance, but most meetings were spontaneous. It was great that most of the women we spoke to introduced us to their cycling friends and communities. And more than that, they invited us to share a meal, ride bikes with them, and, just once, go to a beautiful wedding!

Sharing our passion for slow travel

This trip made us look at the world in a totally different way. That's why we can't wait to share a screening with you!

It inspired us so much that we want other people to experience the magic of slow travel too!
