El Museum of Costume Located in the University City, it has a splendid garden. Artist's work Gustavo Torner, a multifaceted author who always stood out as a draftsman but who also dedicated himself to sculpture and installation design. We must not forget that until 1965 he worked as a Technical Forest Engineer, that year he abandoned that profession to focus on his artistic side. He also made sets for theater and opera, as well as the restructuring of some of the halls of the Museo del Prado. Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts in 1987 and member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando 1992 since.
He was President of the Society of Friends of the Royal Botanical Garden of Madrid and in the garden of the Costume Museum he managed to create a living work of art, where the chromaticism of the chosen species stood out for its variety and beauty.
In 2013 several museums in Madrid jointly organized the program Voices in the Garden: he Museum of Romanticism, Cerralbo Museum, Sorolla Museum and of course the Museum of Costume offered in their respective gardens, and let's not forget that they are some of the best hidden gardens of Madrid, a luxury musical program that far exceeded attendance forecasts.
Although time and inadequate maintenance have taken away part of the original spirit, it is still a wonderful garden and worth stopping in on our visit to the museum.
A abrazo.
