We are in the vicinity of the Alcalá road. It is estimated that around 100 families lived in the town of La Alameda Conde between the XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries. The existence of the population itself was closely related to the existence of the Castle of the Alameda.

We know that in the year 1579, the Villa de La Alameda had a church, once again rebuilt, with a single nave, dedicated to Saint Catherine of Alexandria, Virgin and Martyr. Our protagonist today, the Church of Santa Catalina.

In 1782 a fire occurred that partially destroyed Santa Catalina. The following year an event occurred that changed the course of the history of La Alameda: the Count of Priego sold a series of land and houses located a short distance from the castle to Pedro Téllez Girón, IX Duke of Osuna, husband of our well-known María Josefa. The influence they had on the transformation of the entire area was so important that the old town of La Alameda began to be known as The Alameda of Osuna.

Like the entire area, it was part of the Jaca Position in the Civil War and was used as a warehouse. Today we find it in front of the Palacio del Parque del Capricho, a secluded church, old, small and with a lot of history.
