In the square of Antón MartínActually, at 46 Atocha Street there has been a pharmacy with a globe on the façade since 1870, the Globo pharmacy. Its founder, Dr. Trassera, imitated the English pharmacists, who placed balloons in the establishments they ran so that they could be distinguished at a glance from herbalists and drugstores, indicating with that balloon a higher level of quality and care.
At that time the Globe Pharmacy It only consisted of the ground floor and one floor. Above this there were other apartments occupied by different tenants. In one of those, exactly the third, Ramón y Cajal lived for some years.
In Spanish Civil War A bomb fell on the building next to the pharmacy, leaving it seriously damaged. Later the upper part of the building would be renovated.
The balloon lantern was replaced by a Montgolfier (named after the brothers
Frenchmen with that surname, pioneers of aerostatics at the end of the 18th century) and the large posters in all capital letters for painted blinds. Now the building belongs entirely to the pharmacy, which offers us a modern and aseptic image.
A little piece of Madrid's history that is worth knowing. And another one, which happened very close and that we cannot forget.
In this same square we find a sculpture in memory of the lawyers of Atocha. A sad event, the Atocha Massacre that occurred on January 24, 1977, a terrorist attack committed by right-wing extremists in the very center of Madrid. Five lawyers were murdered, marking the Spanish transition that began after the death of dictator Francisco Franco.
A far-right commando entered a labor law law office of Comisiones Obreras (CC OO) and militants of the Communist Party of Spain (PCE), located at number 55 Atocha Street, opening fire on those present, Luis died Javier Benavides, Serafín Holgado, Javier Sauquillo, Enrique Valdelvira and Ángel Rodríguez Leal, Lola González Ruiz, Miguel Sarabia, Luis Ramos and Alejandro Ruiz-Huerta were seriously injured. These days the sad anniversary has been celebrated 38 years later.
A abrazo.

I don't know if you could answer me. I would like to know if your pharmacy could have Disofrol. If you could look at it and answer me, I would be grateful. Greetings.
Sorry Rosa, we have nothing to do with the pharmacy, we only review it as a historical business. All the best.
Hello, in the city where I live there is also a pharmacy called “El Globo”, it is also very old, the city is in Andalusia, specifically in Linares (Jaén).
