We are going to travel a historical path, the Vía de la Plata. Part of our route, through the south of Salamanca, will run along the route of the Eurovelo 1 to then continue along the old railway route from Palazuelo to Astorga recovered as the Vía de la Plata Natural Trail that takes us through the Ambroz Valley to the outskirts of Plasencia. -

Leave Pamplona following the euroveil 1 and take advantage of the routes of the Plazaola and Bidasoa Greenways from Pamplona to the Cantabrian Sea, will allow us to delve into the Basajaun forests. We will soak up the culture of northern Navarra, although we will ride a few kilometers on the other side of the border, along the Bidasoa to finish in Hondarribia via Hendaye. By the way; culture, gastronomy, railway heritage, beech forests, riverside forests, legendary settings, books and films such as the valley of the Baztan, its Bertiz Manor y Elizondo, beaches and sea, with Hendaye and Hondarribia as cherries on the cake. -

The layout of an old mining train, in the province of Burgos, made it possible to extract iron ore from the middle of the forests for some years. The important thing is that it revealed a much greater treasure: Atapuerca. Today, that route recovered as the Demand Greenway is our excuse to ride a bike its landscape and its history and also visit that treasure, buried for thousands of years.
