21 days of battle that ended practically in a draw. It was July 1937, when Negrín's new government began and also when parties associated with the uprising were united in the FET de la JONS. Franco, who until now had only achieved progress and good news, received the first serious offensive since the republican government. The objective was to break the front line that was besieging and suffocating Madrid and, on the other hand, to alleviate the harassment of Franco's forces on Northern Spain.
In this bicycle itinerary we are going to visit and interpret some places where the battle took place, focusing on the Brunete area as it is the place where the attack and subsequent counterattack that would recover the town was concentrated. Remains that remain in the surroundings of Brunete and Villanueva de la Cañada, many of them in a ruinous state and almost disappeared but that help us to interpret what happened in those days in the summer of '37.
