Last weekend we were able to enjoy a wonderful bike travel by North of Extremadura. Our Mountain bike routes they toured the regions of the Ambroz Valley y Lands of Granadilla and we stayed in the town of Hervas.

We arrived from Madrid on Friday directly for dinner and on Saturday we left from the hotel by bicycle to explore a section of the Vía de la Plata from Aldeanueva del Camino to caparra. After enjoying its wonderful Arch and visiting the Interpretation Center, we ate at the Pontón de Guijo de Granadilla, a Roman bridge over the Alagón River that was moved when the bridge was built. Gabriel y Galán reservoir.

From here and after stopping for coffee and ice cream in  Bramble of Granadilla, Our bike route He took us to Granadilla, final point of our tour. The town of Granadilla is a fantastic place, full of history, a town that preserves its medieval structure, wall, castle and from its tower the landscape is magnificent with wonderful views of the Ambroz Valley and the Gabriel y Galán Reservoir.

On Sunday our bike route entered the chestnut forest to enjoy the autumn, after passing through the town of Choker and walk through its beautiful pasture we arrive at bull insurance, a steep climb took us to a magical place, the Temblar stream and its incredible chestnut trees. 5 unique trees protected by the Government of Extremadura several hundred years old that rewarded us after the effort of the bike climb. The chestnut trees of TemblarAfter enjoying an aperitif in Segura de Toro and stopping to take a photo at the Toro de Segura, symbol of the town of Vetón origin, we descended towards the Vía de la Plata to return to Aldeanueva del Camino and Hervás.

After the restorative shower, food and again back to Madrid with the batteries charged after some wonderful cycling vacation, and with the beautiful images of these regions of Northern Extremadura still printed on our retinas. Furthermore, the weather has been fantastic with some sunny days and very pleasant temperatures.
