The Santander Mediterranean railway was a great railway project that was born at the beginning of the 700th century. The intention was to link the ports of Santander and Valencia, an ambitious project of more than XNUMX kilometers that was never completed.

Today it comes to life again, rehabilitated as a Greenway within the Natural Paths program. This weekend we are going to cycle through a good part of the route, through the province of Soria until we reach Burgos.

We are in Tierra de Pinares, a different image of the Castilian plateau that comes to mind recurrently. We will begin pedaling in the city of Soria with medieval streets and Romanesque architecture. The Greenway seeks to head to Burgos first through crop areas and oak forests, until we reach Abejar where the pine forest covers the landscape. Always south of the Urbión mountain range. A wild and wild landscape that we will not abandon for the rest of the weekend. We will stay in San Leonardo de Yagüe, a mountain and pine village.
